ついにアート・ビオトープ那須にて、第１回のアーティスト・イン・レジデンスが始まりました。今回は陶芸作家の金恵貞さんをお招きして、２カ月の滞在制作をして頂きます。この機に、制作や作品を見学したり、作家さんとの交流を深めてはいかがでしょうか。

アート・ビオトープ那須は、古くから避暑地として人気のある高原リゾート、栃木県・那須高原の山懐にあります。木々に囲まれ小川が流れる静かな環境の中、最初に出来ました。「陶芸」「ガラス」のスタジオ、2階に宿泊室、1階炊事室、食堂といったレジデンス機能を完備した施設です。
アート・ビオトープ小豆島は瀬戸内海で第2の大きさである香川県・小豆島の西端にあります。瀬戸内海に面し対岸に高松を臨み、世界的な芸術作品を身近に感じることができるところです。小豆島で産出される花崗岩は、大坂城築城の際、その石垣に使用されて以来、日本有数の採石地です。さらに、2008年「オリーブ植栽100年」を迎えた、日本一のオリーブ産業があります。
これらの地の利を生かし、AB那須の「アーティスト・イン・レジデンス（AIR）」プログラムは「陶芸」「ガラス」。AB小豆島では「石材彫刻」「草木染め」のジャンルで活躍するアーティスト、研究者の創作活動を支援します。
各プログラム参加者には、市民のさまざまな芸術体験を促すことを目的としてワーク・ショップ、レクチャーなどを開催してもらいます。アーティストにとっては、アーティスト同士の刺激、交流の場であり、市民にとっては、感情豊かな芸術に触れられる場でありたいと願っています。
この場での出会いが、さまざまなエナジー、パワーとなって“新たな芸術”を生み出すことを想像すると楽しみでなりません。

Artist-in-residence Art Biotop NASU is a retreat one hour from Tokyo surrounded by the nature of Nasu area, which is known as a beautiful highlands and resort area. We offer guests glass and ceramic studios, as well as simple elegant residence-room, a small public kitchen and dining space.
Artbiotop Shodoshima is located around the western edge of the 2nd largest island in Setonai-Sea, in Kagawa. The beautiful scenery with Takamatu(pine tree) over the ocean Shodoshima has long been one of Japan's foremost sources of granite, ever since it supplied the stonework used to build the walls of Osaka Castle. It also has the distinction of being the nation's top olive-producing region, and is celebrating the centennial of olive tree cultivation this year.
Capitalizing on such advantages offered by the local environment, Art Biotop Nasu will run an Artist in Residence Progra to support the creative work of artists and researchers active in the genres of ceramic or glass work and Artbiotop Shodoshima will be for stone sculpture and plant-based dying. Participants in the program are asked to hold workshops, lectures, and similar events aimed at providing the public with a variety of artistic experiences.
It is our hope that Art Biotop will serve as a place where artists can interact and stimulate one other, and where general visitors can come into contact with deeply engaging art. We are very excited about the potential for creating new arts through the diverse energy and power generated by human engounters at Art Biotop, and we invite eligible artists and researchers to join in this wonderful process of creation.
